This is a Test

By Stephen Gregg
Directed by Eric Feeney

Comedy
Rating: suitable for all ages, no content warnings
Approximate run time: 20 minutes
https://www.dramaticpublishing.com/this-is-a-test

Plot: As the ticking clock reminds you, only 60 minutes remain to complete this oh-so-important predictor of your future. But you didn’t get the review sheets, the teacher doesn’t like you and your classmates are blatantly cheating. Time passes and the voices in your head remind you that though you are having trouble with the test, your personal life is far, far worse. Then you reach the essay question. The good news—it’s an opinion essay. The bad news—it’s in Chinese. And things aren’t going to get better!

Man of the House

By Robert Alan Blair
Directed by Mia Purcell

Comedy
Rating: Suitable for all ages, no content warnings
Approximate run time: 30-40 minutes
https://www.pioneerdrama.com/SearchDetail.asp?pc=MANOFTHEHO&id=0

Plot: Remember the old detective movies with the theme, ’Crime Doesn’t Pay’? None of them put the criminal through these hilarious circumstances! When a slick, stylish safecracker breaks into the house of the vacationing Mason family, he confronts problems he never had to deal with. While he is busy with the wall safe, Mr. Mason’s niece arrives with her confused fiancé and mistakes the burglar for her uncle. He is then interrupted by another unannounced arrival and then another. Soon our surprised burglar is in the middle of a heated family squabble, acting as marriage counselor and psychologist to an entire crew of crazies! The lines fairly crackle with wit and humor, and the role of the burglar provides a fine showcase for the comedic talents of any actor.
